Planteray Sealander blends rums from three different islands.
It is a blend of pot-still and column-still rums from Barbados (which lend elegance and notes of vanilla), unaged column-still rum from Mauritius (a grassy, herbal rum made from fresh cane juice), and pot-still rum from Fiji (matured in heavily charred casks, which adds structure and fruity notes to the blend).
The resulting rum was bottled at 40% ABV. Dosage: 20 g/L
Aroma: a gentle yet rich hint of pear, quince and gooseberry with notes of smoked molasses.
Taste: rich in delicate notes of clover honey, liquorice, beeswax, vanilla caramel fondant and dried plum.
Finish: long-lasting, with notes of stewed apple, tonka bean and dried banana.
